Tommy Ellison

The legendary Tommy Ellison and The Singing Stars remain one of gospel music’s most popular and enduring quartet groups.
A native of South Carolina, Tommy moved to New York at an early age. He began his career singing background for Gospel music great Edna Galmon Cooke. Tommy later joined the Nightingales where he further enhanced and cultivated the vocal talent God had bestowed upon him. After spending three years with the Nightingales, Tommy journeyed to Los Angeles where he joined forces with the Chosen Gospel Singers. During his time with the group, which at the time also included R&B/Jazz great Lou Rawls, they recorded the hit “When The Saints Go Marching In.
